Born and raised in Bodega Bay, Melissa is involved with her community, having served on Bodega Bay Chamber of Commerce and Bodega Bay Community Association Board of Directors. While raising her 16 year old daughter, Melissa stays involved with the schools and has served on Site Council at Bodega Bay School. Melissa has worked immeasurably with the California Coastal Commission and the Sonoma County Public Resource and Management Department over the past ten years. She is well versed in land use and zoning issues for coastal areas.
Melissa stays busy with her career as well as helping out in the family business, Compass Rose Gardens, a beautiful garden in Bodega Bay where weddings and special events are held. Prior to entering the real estate profession, Melissa’s past work experience includes management positions at both Bodega Marine Laboratory as Housing Manager, and Bodega Bay Fire Protection District as the Administrator of the District. Melissa has a strong financial background and looks forward to utilizing those skills with real property acquisitions.
Growing up, Melissa spent part of her childhood on building sites primarily in Bodega Harbour as her father was a contractor, and "helping" her mother with open houses, as she sold real estate in Bodega Bay. Melissa has the expertise and longevity to represent the Coastal areas with extensive first hand knowledge along with a passionate love for the coast.

Melissa earned the nationally recognized e-PRO certification, currently held by less than 1% of real estate professionals nationwide. e-PRO is the official technology certification program of the National Association of REALTORS®. Conducted by San Diego-based technology company InternetCrusade®, the e-PRO program instructs participants in the professional use of e-mail, the development of an interactive Web site, and the use of on-line research and marketing tools. Graduates emerge specially equipped to meet the fast-growing consumer demand for Web-based real estate services.
